Zach Axelrod – CEO

Zach started in the energy industry as a wholesales power markets analyst at ICF International. He moved to a position as Director of Market Solutions at GridPoint Inc, an Arlington, VA based smart grid company, where he structured multi-party financial transactions as well as building one of the industry’s first comprehensive financial models. He then left GridPoint in August of 2009 to found Skyline Innovations. When Zach is not working at Skyline Innovations … actually, this never happens.

Rich Andrews – Engineering

Rich has over twenty years of software experience with a diverse product development background ranging from early online community design to bleeding edge smart grid system architecture. Before joining Skyline Rich led software development at GridPoint. Rich is currently developing the billing and user interface portions of Skyline’s metering solution. When not in the office he can usually be found surfing.

Mike Healy – Market Development

Mike has been involved in the energy industry since 2003 when he led an economic development project in The Gambia and Senegal which produced a distributed renewable energy deployment plan for the two countries. Following his time in West Africa Mike took on a role in energy policy for Senator Jay Rockefeller before moving on to a business development position at GridPoint. Mike now leads Skyline’s government affairs as well as managing dealer and health club channels. When not focusing on energy, Mike can be found sailing in the Chesapeake Bay…or beyond.

Kate Heidinger – Project Management

Kate has 4 years of project and logistics management experience. Prior to joining Skyline Innovations she spent two years writing and researching economic and trade policy studies for the Economic Strategy Institute in Washington, DC. Kate is Skyline’s project manager and also leads the car wash sales channel. Among other things, Kate loves grapefruit and throwing dinner parties.

Andrew Jackson – Engineering

    Andrew was recruited to his first paid software development gig at the age of 13, and has 11 years of software development experience across a number of domains, from acoustic analysis of very large datasets at Cornell’s bio-acoustics research lab, to algorithmically managing distributed energy resources at GridPoint.  Before joining Skyline Innovations he was performing RF analysis and the Naval Research Laboratories. Andrew is currently developing the data retrieval and analysis back-end of Skyline’s metering system.  He loves all things data, especially with milk & cookies.

Adam Koeppel – Engineering

Adam has 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in the energy sector. He developed energy efficiency standards at Navigant Consulting before taking a position as a product manager for smart grid technologies at GridPoint. Adam now heads up hardware engineering and delivery for Skyline’s metering solution. During his free time he invents home beer brewing equipment.

Aaron Block – Market Development

Aaron began working in the renewable energy sector in 2006  as an analyst for Sustainable Business Consulting in Seattle. After helping to found a community based energy service cooperative in Minneapolis, Aaron joined GridPoint where he worked as a utility and energy analyst under Zach. Aaron leads Skyline’s market and project analysis as well as the brewery and laundromat sales channels. When not touring brewing and laundry facilities across the countryside, Aaron can be found riding his bike or scheming up ways to improve the wholesale purchasing efficiency of restaurant industry.
