The Skyline team has deep experience in clean energy technology and services, deploying projects to intelligently network distributed energy resources with the electric grid. The team enjoys tackling complex energy problems, climbing on rooftops, and playing urban croquet.
Zach started his career in the energy industry as a wholesale power market analyst at ICF International. He moved to Director of Market Solutions at GridPoint Inc., an Arlington, VA based smart grid company, where he structured smart grid transactions while building one of the industry’s first comprehensive financial models. Zach left GridPoint in August 2009 to found Skyline Innovations with the idea of helping small and mid-sized businesses implement clean energy solutions through an easy to understand and implement shared savings model. When Zach is not working … actually, this never happens.
Sandra has over a decade of experience in marketing, research and analysis, and strategic planning. Sandra started her career at Johnson & Johnson global headquarters, developing marketing and branding initiatives for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and personal care products. For five years prior to joining Skyline, Sandra worked in corporate and business development at GridPoint. Sandra leads Skyline’s demand creation initiatives and sales organization.
Rich has over twenty years of software experience with a diverse product development background ranging from early online community design to bleeding edge smart grid system architecture. Before joining Skyline, Rich led software development at GridPoint. Rich is currently developing the billing and user interface portions of Skyline’s metering solution. When not in the office, he can usually be found surfing.
Mike has been involved in the energy industry since 2003 when he led an economic development project to produce distributed renewable energy deployment plans for The Gambia and Senegal. Following his time in West Africa, Mike took on a role in energy policy for Senator Jay Rockefeller before moving on to a business development position at GridPoint. Mike now leads Skyline’s government affairs efforts. When not focusing on energy, Mike can be found sailing in the Chesapeake Bay…or beyond.
Mark began his 15 year career in industry managing consumer product development initiatives for Tambrands Inc. In the late 90s Mark left the corporate world to pursue his passion of renovating older homes in New England acquiring several construction licenses and certifications along the way. This led to a second career in solar, installing PV and thermal systems for Alteris Renewables. As Construction Manager for Skyline, Mark ensures our installations go smoothly. In his free time he can be found tooling the back country roads of Virginia on his vintage BMW motorcycle.
Kris joins Skyline after three years of living abroad, where he worked for a Ghanaian software company, a Chinese primary school, and a Kenyan forestry organization. He has experience developing processes in young organizations, and is helping with Skyline’s scaling efforts. Kris enjoys exotic food, live sports, and gardening.
Kate Zevnik joins Skyline after graduating from American University in the Spring of 2011. Kate graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Public Communications and a minor in Health Communication. Kate has come on board to work as part of the business development and marketing team. In her spare time, Kate runs, plays tennis, spends time with her family and enjoys her life as a native Washingtonian.
Kate comes to Skyline with a diverse background in project and event management, as well as economic policy research and writing. She now spends her time running Skyline’s solar installations, chatting with vendors, and exploring customers’ rooftops. When she’s out of the office, Kate often spends her time cooking delicious food and relaxing with a good book or two.
Harris joins Skyline after working as a Controller for LivingSocial. He is a CPA with 15 years of accounting experience. Previously, he has worked for National Geographic and Discovery Communications. Harris spends his days managing the accounting and finance functions for Skyline. When not working … Harris spends his nights as a masked crusader for accounting justice.
Grant comes to Skyline after several years in the renewable energy contracting community where he focused on business development and pre-construction activities. He also has over a decade of experience in the real estate industry including acquisitions, finance, project management and representation. Grant is delighted to be immersed in the space where energy meets real estate.
Eben leads our mergers and acquisitions strategy, in addition to developing our more complex financial models. Eben came to Skyline after leading the legal teams for the ExxonMobil and Citibank/Nations Bank mergers. When not plotting a hostile takeover, Eben likes to drink milk and have his diaper changed.
David Jonas joins Skyline after serving as an aide to Senator Al Franken, where he focused on economic and small business policy. David now works as Skyline’s customers’ point-of-contact for finished projects, making sure projects are performing at their best. David also serves as the company’s lead compliance officer. When not working, David writes funny skits that his friends consistently refuse to act out.
David is making his renewable energy sector debut with Skyline. After working as a magazine editor and freelance journalist in Johannesburg and Pittsburgh, he parlayed his communication skills and winning smile into a sales position at Skyline. David now heads up Skyline’s east coast sales and business development, with a soft spot for breweries (especially if they have a good double IPA on tap). When not expanding Skyline’s market reach, David can be found on local hoops courts working on his jump shot or at a coffee shop writing the first chapter of a yet-to-be-published novel.

Charles is secretly a robot and plots world domination in his spare time.
Brian joined Skyline after seven years working in operations consulting in China and two years doing operations optimization projects at GridPoint. Brian spends his days streamlining Skyline’s processes and chatting with Skyline’s many awesome partners about upcoming projects. After work, Brian watches old monster flicks and plays with the Chief Baby Officer.
A relative newcomer to the world of renewable energy, Bonk has met all challenges head on and at full force. What he lacks in technical experience and quantitative abilities, he makes up for in his mastery of team morale and sheer adorability. When not patrolling Skyline offices and overseeing employee workflow and helping new hires acclimate, Bonk can generally be found napping at home, napping in the office, or leading a book club dedicated exclusively to the works of Marcel Proust.
Andrew was recruited to his first paid software development gig at the age of 13, and has 11 years of software development experience across a number of domains, from acoustic analysis of very large datasets at Cornell’s bio-acoustics research lab, to algorithmically managing distributed energy resources at GridPoint. Before Skyline, he performed RF analysis at the Naval Research Laboratories. Andrew is currently developing the data retrieval and analysis back-end of Skyline’s metering system. He loves all things data, especially with milk & cookies.
Aaron began working in the renewable energy sector in 2006 as an analyst for Sustainable Business Consulting in Seattle. After helping to found a community based energy service cooperative in Minneapolis, Aaron joined GridPoint where he worked as a utility and energy analyst. Aaron recently struck out for California where he is expanding Skyline’s geographic reach into the West Coast’s robust renewables markets. When not expounding on the joys of guaranteed energy savings with no upfront cost, Aaron can be found riding his bike or debating ideal walk/nap ratios with Skyline’s Director of Non-Human Resources.
